  2.                 HOTST_2 - Batch Utilities

  5. This archive contains freeware batch/DOS programs by Horst Schaeffer.
  6. Some of them were posted and discussed in the Fidonet BATPOWER echo.
  7.  
  8. All programs are accompanied by a DOC file (except CRC32).
  9. A brief help is available with /? (except NSET).

  13. ANSTRIP         strip ANSI codes out of ASCII files
  14. CRC32           report CRC32 - companion to CSCRIPT
  15. CSCRIPT         DEBUG / XXencoded script generator with CRC32
  16. DELAGE          delete/report files by age (days)
  17. DREADY          disk(ette) ready?
  18. ESPACE          environment variable space report/check with errorlevel
  19. EVERY           run jobs once a day / once a week
  20. INSET           prompts user for string input to put in environment
  21. ISDATE          compare date (also date of file, today's date)
  22. KPUSH           stuff keystrokes into keyboard buffer, code test mode
  23. LISTMOD         make list of commands from input list
  24. LOGECHO         custom entries for logfiles, with enhanced date handling
  25. LOGTRIM         trim logfiles (min/max KB)
  26. NOEMPTY         remove empty lines from ASCII file
  27. NSET            pipe data from STDIN into an environmental variable
  28. PACO            executable COM file archive (prefix) for small COM files
  29. PCHECK          checks if (parallel) printer is ready, optionally resets it
  30. QECHO           "quote echo" with control codes, defaults without CR/LF
  31. WAIT            wait (seconds) for keystroke, code by errorlevel
  32. WHAT            return current date and time as an errorlevel
  33.  
  34. Note:
  35. The HORST_1 archive also included PMENUE (batch menu with bar/mouse)
  36. and SETWORD.
  37. PMENUE (and associated files) now moved to a separate archive.
  38. SETWORD has been dropped as it has been superseded by NSET.
